Peter J. Pezzino

Peter J. holds a Master’s Degree in Traditional Scottish Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, UK. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Berklee College of Music in Violin and Viola Performance (and minors in both Creative Writing and Literature).
Throughout the years, Peter J. has performed with big productions such as Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds, and with Chinese Pop Icon, Wang Leehom. Peter Jay has also had the opportunity to premier live performances of music from The Hobbit and Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Peter Jay has an album out (on all streaming platforms), called Dear Self, which features both traditional Scottish music and his original compositions. He is currently working on his third studio album. Some of his works and arrangements have been featured on Irish National Radio. Peter J. also regularly tours with Evil Woman: The American ELO.
Peter J. served as the NJSMA Region I Audition Chair for two years. His fiddling and orchestral groups for high school students have won top ratings at national competitions and have been invited to play at invitation-only competitions both nationally and internationally. Peter J. has a firm belief that any child can learn to play a string instrument and has a strong love for contemporary classical music.
His philosophy on teaching and life stems from a quote by poet Emily Dickinson: “I dwell in possibility—“ meaning that, if we stay open to the possibilities, the ideas of others, and welcome new knowledge, we will be able to achieve any goal that we set our minds to.
